The Lone Star Palengke will be at Asia Times Square, 2625 West Pioneer Parkway Grand Prairie, TX 75051 from 12pm to 6pm.

The event will have interactive booths, community organizations, local small businesses and restaurants.

This kwentuhan booth is part of a collaborative research project between the Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (AFIRE), the Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) and Tayo project, and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Through participating in this booth, there will be paid opportunities to participate in an oral history and focus group project on diasporic media and politics.

This is one of 16 National Endowment for the Humanities awardees under the “Dangers and Opportunities of Technology: Perspectives from the Humanities” grant and this funding will support the collection of intergenerational and multilingual testimonials to examine memory, political histories, and information networks across Asia and Asian American diasporas.
