Tayo 2024 Fellowship Applications Now Open

FYLPRO Tayo Fellowship Program

Deadline: June 11, 2024 at 11:59 PM (local time)

The Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) Tayo unit is looking for dynamic content creators and youth leaders who want to focus their talents to support wellness, health equity, and advocacy for the Filipino American community.

In October 2020, FYLPRO launched a web help desk, β€œTayo” designed for seniors, unemployed individuals, and front line workers with information to make decisions to safeguard their health and well being during the pandemic.

Firmly believing that we are the agents of change, and the custodians of our own community, FYLPRO mobilized experts, content creators, and service providers in the areas of medicine and medical research, mental health, government assistance and response, transportation, and social services to provide credible, timely, and community-specific information.

This summer, Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) Tayo unit is seeking its fifth cohort of fellows to join the ongoing operations of Tayo in the areas of research, grant development, community engagement and social media, and editorial.

Fellows will get hands-on experience in the areas above and collaborate with Tayo team members. The Tayo Fellowship program will also include professional and career development opportunities.

The fellowship program will run from June 30 - September 8, 2024.

The fellowship program is primarily virtual with optional opportunities to attend in-person events (ex. conferences, health fairs, festivals, etc) based on interest and availability. We are unable to offer monetary compensation at the moment, but please read the job description document to see other benefits this position offers.

On a weekly basis you will:

- Collaborate with Tayo team members on various tasks including, but not limited to: public health research, grant writing, social media content creation, and editorial content creation for the Tayo website.

- Attend a weekly Tayo coordination meeting on Sundays from 5pm-6pmET/4pm-5pmCT/3pm-4pmMT/2pm-3pmPT/12pm-1pmHT
