The current situation with COVID-19 pandemic made it challenging for all of us to keep in touch with loved ones and miss important milestones. We must remain cautious and consider staying at home and observing celebrations virtually with our loved ones. 

Below are some factors you should consider prior to making a decision for travel and/or staying at a relative for the holidays:

• Check the COVID-19 infection rates in the area where you are traveling/staying through state, local, territorial, or tribal health department websites or on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID Data Tracker County View
• Ask your family relative the amount of participants in attendance. Understand that you can only control your actions, therefore, you have the power to make informed decisions based on the information you know 
• Make informed decisions based on the information you gathered from family relatives. If possible, encourage participants to take a COVID-19 test a few days prior to the event. If testing is not possible, encourage participants to do their best to isolate for 10 days prior to the event
