Although we may want to spend special occasions with all our loved ones, the greater health of our family comes first. It’s important not to meet with people who have been diagnosed, have been exposed to, or have symptoms of COVID-19.
Those who are still waiting for viral test results are also advised not to attend any in person gatherings.
Essential workers should also exercise their best judgment in deciding to attend private gatherings with friends and family members who do not live in the same household.
To take care of our family, it is strongly encouraged that lolo and lola (senior citizens, those of older age), family that are immunocompromised, to please stay at home. Because of their age or conditions, they are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19. This includes cancer, transplant patients or those with diseases that affect the immune system.
It may be “tiis tiis muna” (sacrifice for a little bit), but that will ensure that we keep our family healthy in the long run.
