As of April 18, 2022, the federal order that is requiring masks on public transportation is no longer in effect. Despite this, it is important to keep yourself safe on public transportation and public transportation hubs by wearing a mask.

If you use public transportation to commute to work or other locations, here is what you can expect from transit authorities to maintain your health and safety.

There should be physical barriers and other measures to enforce social distancing for both employees and passengers.

There should be notices and signage communicating COVID-19 prevention measures (for example, public information regarding hand washing, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining social distancing).

There should be increased measures to intensify cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces.

There should be measures for you to reduce exposure to contact through the use of contactless payment and no-touch doors and trash cans.

If you are experiencing any symptoms or if you are feeling ill, transit authorities also highly recommend that you stay home.
